Today, I'm going to share with you a hard-won secret.
It's the most peace-inducing word in the English language.
As a recovering people-fixer (not to be confused with people pleaser), I fervently believed it was my responsibility to make others "see the light".
To bring them around to my way of thinking.
Or at the very least, to make them see the error of their ways.
What a load of crap. And what a lesson in hubris.
Wow. It's embarrassing now.
My belief system is mine. I don't have to "bring you over" to validate myself. That's not fair to me or to you.
These days, if you want to tell me the moon is made of green cheese?
You want to tell me you're going to get a full-back tattoo?
You want to tell me you've decided to move into an off-grid cabin in the wilderness to find yourself for 6 months?
We all deserve peace. We all deserve dignity.
And we all deserve our own life experiences.
As I've gotten older and wiser, I see those things are so much more important to me than being right. Or whatever I perceive as right.
Because that's pretty subjective, isn't it?
"Okay." Practice it. Tell me how it makes you feel.
Sending you all so much love.
