Kindness is the Greatest Strength
Kindness is a strength.
And it’s one that pays huge dividends to YOU.
Many times, when we’ve been hurt, we withdraw into ourselves.
We pull out that protective armor and put a shield around ourselves.
Yes, we protect our tender hearts, but we also close them off.
To love, to friendship, to joy.
And that’s a dangerous thing.
If you keep your heart closed off for long enough, it will become hardened.
You cut yourself off from the richness and vibrance of life.
More importantly, you cut yourself off from all the wonderful people and experiences that are waiting for you.
If you find yourself saying things like, “I don’t give a crap about him/her.” or
“He/she can do whatever they want. It’s not my problem.”
Please re-evaluate. Please allow the thought of dropping your armor and giving kindness a try to germinate in your brain.
Give it time to take root and grow.
I promise, it will make the greatest difference of all in your life.
And I’m gonna tell you a secret:
When you soften yourself to kindness, you’ll find true strength.
When you cultivate empathy and compassion, life’s disappointments won’t rock you.
And when the inevitable bad thing does happen, you’ll be able to brush it off as an anomaly.
And isn’t that infinitely better seeing it as reinforcement that life sucks and all people are out to get you?
Come over to the side of kindness. We’re waiting for you here.
Sending you all so much love.
